When I got this laptop (3040NR,) it was one of the best. In 2012, to give you an idea, it cost $1,200. It's a little older, with Windows 7 (which I LOVE) but time for me to upgrade. Battery is still about 65% of original capacity, most of the time I had it plugged in and used a mouse and external keyboard. You'll see in the pics it's in great shape for its age - besides a few tiny specs on the cover, it's nearly perfect aesthetically. You can see the system specs in one of the pics. The 15.5"screen is LED and very bright and crisp - 80% of the time has been off (had a monitor I used instead.) Has DVD player/optical drive. HD is 730GB, 8GB RAM. Comes with a power adapter. Just reformatted and took off the back and thoroughly cleaned the cooling fans etc. (have done that periodically over it's life, so very clean inside.) Has Beats sound - impressive for a laptop.
Only a few issues:
A - I was stupid enough to get the "free upgrade" to Win 8 in 2017. Hated it and reformatted back to 7. But, there must have been some codec that couldn't be restored. So now, you can't see some videos in Internet Explorer (like on Facebook, for example.) Works fine in Chrome and Firefox. I hear they are dumping I.E. anyway. If you are a computer person, you can probably figure it out if it's even an issue to you.
B - happening at the same time and probably the same codec, Windows Movie Maker and at least one other movie making program I've tried don't work properly (think it was Video Studio 11.) VideoPad (program you can download and purchase) DID work though, tried the free trial. Both of these issues not much of an issue, used it like this for 3 years.
C - when reformatting, for some reason, had to reformat a few times for it to stick. Reformatted fine, but the Windows update got stuck near the end. Not sure if that's normal, but 2nd time was a charm. Now works great besides the little issues above.
