For sale is my 1984 Honda Interceptor VF 1000 F, and for those of you familiar with Honda history, this bike needs no introduction. This was the first liter V4 sport bike from Honda available for sale in the US. The bike features a 998cc V4, 16 valve DOHC engine, liquid cooling, hydraulic clutch, TRAC anti-dive suspension, and a variety of other features that were ahead of its time. The ‘84 Interceptor was part of a pivotal time in Honda’s sport bike history that helped the company find its role in manufacturing throughout the 1980’s and onward. The engine makes 113 hp/66 lb-ft and takes the bike to its top speed of 150mph.

I have recently overhauled many aspects of this particular bike. Some modifications that occurred before I had the bike are the black paint job, 1980’s Yoshimura 4-2 exhaust, and a manual cooling fan switch (Always on w/ ignition on, can be run when the bike is off).

I have done the following to the bike:
• Carburetor cleaning, overhaul, and bench synchronization
• All new fluids
• New brake pads
• Front suspension rebuild
• New leather seat cover
• Gas tank removal of rust and fuel varnish
• Fuel petcock rebuilt
• New mirrors, rubber grips, fuel lines, some bolts/screws/springs, gaskets, etc
• Valve adjustment
• Hydraulic clutch overhaul
• New battery

The bike now runs and rides like it should. Everything works including electrical. Mileage is 24,733 as I am writing this ad but it will go up as I continue to ride the bike. This bike is rare, has plenty of power, and has a unique style that is sure to stand out wherever you take it. Come see this badass retro machine in person!

Asking $2,900 OBO – I will not barter over phone/email.
Serious buyers only. Cash in person only.
The location of the bike is changing from Ames, IA to Glenview, IL during the 2nd week of May.
Call or text is the best way to reach me (I don’t answer phone numbers I don’t know so leave a message – text is preferred)
